Ms. Lucy is truly in love with Charles Darnet because she eventually marries him (This question does not relate to revolution or explored responses (on the rubric)).
Hi Mrs. Perry
Who uis this Mrs. Perry? Maayeb you're unwell? Wheresse Lucise?
I'm not sure who she is in love with, but I don't agree with your reasoning... marriage isn't a perfect indication that the couple is in love, especially in the eighteenth century and especially in fiction.
I agree too
i DEFINITLY agrree with jacob because many of the bride's father chose who they were going to be married with at a young age.
She might not be in love with anyone. She has feelings for both Darney and Carton. She is closest to her father.
I agree with Brian, because in the BBC interpretation, Lucie never expressed much emotion when she was with Darnay.
True, but is the BBC adaptation true to the book? There are some differences seen between the two. In the other version we watched before the BBC, Lucie liked being in Darnay's company. In the actual novel Lucie enjoyed being around Darnay.
To some degree, Julia, you are right, but I think that Kenneth's Genre Savviness is probably correct... a novel is better at hiding people's tones than a film, so the screenwriter and director, who have presumably read all of it, would have to make the actress act in a way which is true the the way her romance arc ends in a way which is capable of being less obvious in a novel.
I agree with jacob
He might marry her...
You already spoiled. It's too late now T_T
I'm not comfortable being simplified to the person I fall in love with. I am my own person; if I fall in love with a person, that person may reflect or form my person, I want to be seen as more than just Mrs. Darnay or Carton.
I firmly believe that Lucie's heart truly rest with me. Our connection has grown with time; likewise our affection for each other is unmatched by any other couple. I warn all other hogbreath men to stay clear of my beautiful rose in respect of our relationship. #CharlesDarnay
You all seem like you are in dire need of fresh air, for the moon has addled your mind. You speak of a Ms Perry, a Jacob and some BBC channel. You sound like Dr. Manette when he was truly crazy, believing he only was in a book!
Why would I ever marry a drunkard like Carton, I need a sophisticated man like Darnay.
It seems that Lucy does not love Carton, but rather feels sympathy for him.
That sounds about right.
Whny wuslds sokmewrun fesal baeda fofadsgfr ame?
I love you Lucie. I want to have your love. With you I feel like a new person.#Carton
After a few drinks..........
My love, I am who you should truly be with. I am your one and only love, you may not know it but it's true. I can't live without you. You are the wind beneath my wings and I can't truly soar with out you. Why can't you see that I am what your heart desires. I'm going to have a another drink.
I am sorry, but I simply cannot be with a drunken fool who's idea of a good time is a bottle of wine and some spiked punch. I cannot be defined as a lady of high caliber if a man is slumping on my shoulder drunkenly all the time. I wish to be an independant woman, even in marraige. I don't wish for my character to be defined by who I marry, which it will be if I marry a drunken fool.
My lovely daughter, you are a gift from above. You fill my life with joy. I hope you do whatever will make you happy. The decision is yours. Make a life for yourself. No regrets. Choose the man you love. #Dr. Manette @Lucie
Lucie is my only daughter and I love her so much. I do think she has feelings for both Darnay and Carton, but is not capable of sorting them out. She is always trying to take care of me and always trying to make my life better. Right now I do not feel she can make the decision of who she is in love truthfully. I just want her to be happy and make the right decision. #Dr.Manette
I think the only person that Miss Manette should be in love with is my brother, Solomon
If he had not made a mistake in his life @Miss Pross.
Lucie may choose whomever she feels she loves most. However, it is not important to worry about love. I just want my dear daughter to be happy. I give her my permission to be with whatever man she pleases.
All of you fools must back of Miss Ladybird herself. There never will be; nor ever has been a man worthy of Miss Manette. Except of course for my brother Solomon- if only he did not make such a silly mistake. #MissPross
*breaks whiskey bottle*
Say that again, Lucy.
BaSED on my experiences, LUcy is not in love with anyone yet. Right now she has gone through hard times recently, like Dr. Maneete's release. He has been acting strangely such as walking around at night, and Lucy has tried her best to comfort him. Lucy is emotionally stirred up and has not thought of her lover.
Lucie, you have been so good to me. I want you to be with the one who makes you shine the way you always do. Choose the one who treats you right, not a useless drunk. Why waste your beauty on such an ugly lifestyle. Make your decision a wise one my dear.
Oh doctor, you do not understand. I have been lacking that sense of loving and belonging to someone. That is something that completely slips my mind when I am drinking. Lucie belongs with me, try to understand this. #Carton
Thank you father, I will take your words into consideration when I choose the man I shall marry. For right now pity is why I like Carton, but I am trully in love with Darny.
@Doctor Manette #Lucie
Lucy is too young to make such a major decision on her own. As much as I love her and want what is best for her, I would prefer that she take her time in order to choose wisely and carefully, All in all, I just want her to be satisfied in life.
In my opinion, the only man worthy enough for my LadyBird is my own brother, Solomon Pross! #MissPross
Miss Pross, I do appreciate your valuable proposal but would like for you to know that I am an independent woman who would much rather favor to make my own decisions on who to spend my life with. I recognize very well that Solomon Pross is a wonderful and adequate lad, but please know that I am truly in love with Charles. I understand that you desire what is best for me and I sincerely respect you for that. Thank you!
I'd much rather have Lucy marry Darney, rather than the drunkard Carton. But I just want my daughter to be happy, so she can marry who she wants, but I personally prefer Darney over Carton. #DrManette
But I drink because I lack something. Something that I love, something that loves me. Lucie will fill that crater in my heart that has beleaguered me my entire life! I beg of you, Dr. Manette, please let me take your daughter in marriage!
I despise being talked about as though I am not present! I cannot be defined by who I marry. I might not marry at all at the steady rate these gentlemen are fighting about me! And is their any proof that you, Mr. Carton, will stop your terrible habits if I do turn a loving eye in your direction?
And father, no matter what choice I may make, I hope that you understand that I feel it is the best decision.
I love Charles Darnay because he is polite and rich and all women of this time must marry a nobleman and that is exactly what he is.
If Lucie is married to either Charles Darnay or Sydney Carton, then Tellson's Bank will no longer have to support her, so the sooner she marries, the better for our business. However, since I am a family friend, I do pray for her welfare when it comes to an important decision such as this.
Lucie needs a respectable rich man like me. Most woman need a man who will favor her above all else and also be able to provide for her and have a title to be able to pass. That title will one day become a respected title instead of a disgraced title.
Carton is an annoying drunkard. He has no work ethic and can only be trouble to you in the future. Marry me, my love.
You all are to sweet, gentlemen. I have feelings for all of you but I am not positive about what path my heart takes me. I am sure whatever happens is for the best and love will have the final say. Only the future knows what lies ahead. #LucieManette
Mr. Jarvis Lorry
I think this because I am rich and know about everything, for I have a treasure worth millions. #CountOfMonteCristo
I believe that my daughter shouldn't marry Carton simply for the reason that he is a drunk. Besides, a marriage is expensvie, and I believe that with this new revoulution, a marriage would be in jeapordy.
Lucy, love is a complicated game of emotions. If you are having trouble between these men, it is understood that should be confused. Put faith in my words when I say the right choice is the man who makes you most happy.
My true love remains in my father, as he is the main thing which I care about. I hope he remains in my life forever.
I would rather die than believe that Lucie does not love me. From the minute I saw her face, I have thought of nothing else. That scoundrel Carton will never have the favor of my dear Lucie. In the same way as I would die without her, I would also die for her. I only hope that she loves me the same.
I am sure who this is and who she is afectionate for, but I do believe that my love, Mercedes, is truly in love with me and not the ever so lucky Dantes.
I believe Ms. Lucie is inlove with Mr. Jarvis Laury, however I would not know as I live in a parallel universe. I, although am married to Fernand, I still am in love with my young-life lover Edmond Dontes. He was sentenced to jail over 20 years ago, but the other day I met a strange man who reminded me of Dontes because of a habit they have in common. Dontes and I were eternaly in love, and I believe if he is out there, still loves me as I do him.
@The Count of Monte Cristo
Who do you love? Do you still love Mercedes- or is it Haydee?
I do not actually know who Lucie is in love with, for I have not met her personally. Though I do know that there is another person that sounds a lot like this Carton figure. This person is named Caderousse, he is a drunkard, yet he does not want anyone in his life except his alchohol. He sent my lover to jail, and if I were you @LucyManette, I would not have interest in this man Carton. They bring nothing but trouble and can doom others without even trying. I WANT DANTES BACK! @Caderousse
While Lucie and I have an undeniable connection, I know that I am not worthy of her and her happiness. I will just go drink some more and wallow in sorrow, because I am just not as good as my "twin", Charles Darnay.
I would do anything for you Lucie, and I care for you greatly. I know I am a fool and an alcoholic, but my heart belongs to you. #Sydney Carton
You will never find my treasure!
P.S: It's not on the Isle of Monte Cristo.
As a father not wanting a drunk with my daughter, having Carton as my son-in-law (that kills me) would harsh and deadly. But my daughter makes her own decisions and is brilliant enough to pick the right man.
# Dr. Manette
I am truly longing for your heart, my dear Lucie, however, I know that we are not destined to be together. I have become a desperate man who could have been the same as Charles Darnay, yet I have wasted my life, but you must know that I shall protect and care for you for as long as I live.
Lucie, love is not something to be toyed with. After I lost you and your mother, love had deserted me with nothing but pain and loneliness. Just remember, that when you choose your love, consider this: some love will last and some love will not. #Dr.Manette
It is not in my real business to inquire of my clients' relationships, but I do believe that fellow Charles Darnay has had a fancy for Lucie since he first saw her. I would not be suprised if she had the same affection. They would be such a happy couple. But (ahem) it is none of my concern.
Oh what trouble love truly is. Causing so much pain and sadness, as well as happiness and peace, it truly is nature's true force of evil. I myself was ripped from my happiness and peace when my dear Edmond was taken.
As a man of business, love does not have a place in my heart, but i do feel sympathy for the young Miss Mannete for the two suitors chasing after her. After all, she is awfully beautiful... #Mr. Jarvis Lorry
Daughter, I wish you well in your marraige, but always remember, if things do not work out, I will always be there for you. @Lucy_Manette. #Dr._Manette
At this point in my life, my only love is my father. I haven't seen him in a long time and I can't think of giving my life to someone else when mine has been absent from his for so long. How am I supposed to leave him now?
I appreciate your support and your words of wisdom. The talk really helped me and it has improved my attitude greatly.
Life is beautiful. Thank you for being you. The sun always shines brighter through my eyes because of you.
#I #am #Charles #Darnay #loveisloving
My Lucie is truly in love with Charles Darnay but he and Sydney Carton look too alike that she can't tell the difference making her love Sydney Carton. But her truest love is me, her father, of course
I will not tell who I am in love with. I will, however, tell that everyone will eventually find out who my love falls with. He is a charming man and I do NOT love Sydney Carton
It is hard to focus on all of this talk of affection and what i am really feeling about all you gentlemen when I am trying to focus on rebuilding the relationship I have with my father. It just adds to the confusion, when what I mainly want to do now i focus on my family.
I have spent years without him, and where were you all then. Now that I have him back, I am being pulled away from him by all of your bombardments.
Lucie loves me because of my good looks and great character. She deserves and great man like me to live the rest of her life with.
I have grown exceptionally fond of you my dear Lucie. You are quite beautiful my darling. If only you would spend the rest of your life with me.
Lucy Manette's love is as secret as my drinking problems. It is I who is the object of her affections. Any intelligent man can see that I am simply playing hard to get.
Ms. Manette (or now should I call you Mrs. Darnay?), while as pleased as I am that everyone is immersing themselves in the drama that is unfolding, also known as your love life, I would like to turn the conversation to another note. I realise that your life has changed dramatically over the past six-and-a-half to seven years, ever since your father suddenly was recalled to life, and would like to know how the problems you have faced have influenced your decision to marry Mr. Darnay. Your life has been chaotic for some while, but I see that order is being restored, and I am curious as to Mr. Darnay's influence, or a lack thereof, upon this situation.
Also, Mrs. Darnay, you are probaby wondering as to who I am. I work with our mutual friend, Mr. Lorry, and he has educated me as to your situation.
I respect your requests, for you are my greatest love. But I must know, for what reason is Carton deserving of my respect? Why are you so trusting of him while you withold your intentions from your own husband?
Deny me my love for you. I must know that you will never allow me to drag you down into the slums of the earth, of which i have thuroughly familiarized myself. I must know that you will never try to ressurect my being. I am a broken man of spilt blood and wine.
Believe me when I say that I am truely happy of your marriage to Charles Darnay. He is the one that makes you happy. Have no fear of how any of this will affect me, for I will be just fine. It delights me to know that my daughter, who means the world to me, is happy and that she will be taken care of.
She was absolutely dumbstruck as soon as she laid her pretty, little eyes on me! She and I will be together for the rest of our wonderful lives.
I am so happy with Charles. He truly is the love of my life. I am so glad I married him. With him and father beside me, life could not be better.
Charles is my one true love, and he always will be. The marriage was wonderful, and although I had to say goodbye to my dear father, I could not be happier. #Lucie Manette
Mrs. Darnay, you no doubt would like to know the status of our dear friend, Mr. Lorry, and myself. We have both safely arrived in France after a rather long journey. Mr. Lorry has asked me to tell you that "even though has been rather inconvenient for the two of us, we both realize the magnitude of importance in our venture and I hope that you understand the reason for which we had to leave London, and more importantly, you." All the best wishes to you and yours.
My dear beloved, I know that you have by now received your letter and would like to fulfill my promise of reporting news of my safe arrival in Paris. I have made arrangements to reunite with Mr. Lorry and we will take good care of each other. I hope that from my previous letter you might be able to understand my purposes for coming to France. It is not that I wished to leave you, my love, for if you would have been in no danger I would have brought you with me, but I have duties that I must fulfill and loyalties to which I must stay strong, and I could not possibly put you in harm's way.
I have just been contacted by Charles and he has told me that he is in Paris! I am certain that you are now aware of the fact, but to be sure that you are in no way hurt on my account, I would like to reassure you that I had no knowledge of his plans and did not support him in anyway. As a matter of fact, when the subject arose the night of my departure, I told him that he ought to say for your sake! I am certain that you will be fine, and I promise to look after your husband and keep him as safe as possible.
For having loved and lost a man: Comment "Like" if this has happened to you.
Oh Lucie, how I longed for your love. I am happy for you, but inside, I still yearn from you. I urged you to ask your father of the secret that Charles Darnay told him. Have you not wondered why he went back to cobbling. Oh please end this marriage before it is too late, Lucie, for the true love of your life is right in front of you.
@MissManette Lucie, I will do anything to protect you, or those who are dear to you. Nothing has or will become of my life. I am therefore dedicating it to you. #Iamsydcarton
Lucie wants to believe she is in love with Charles Darnay, however she will always have a soft spot Sydney Carton that no matter what she does, will never go away.
Though I cannot bear to see my daughter grow up and go, I understand that I must. She has grown to love you and I must let her leave.
oops wrong page
My daughter truly has the strongest bond to me. What is love? Is it an attraction to someone or a deep connection? If speaking about connections, Lucie loves me more than her own husband. Her protection over me confirms to me and others that I am the one Lucie loves in family terms. Just look! I am not blind to see that everyone around me knows that without Lucie I am nothing. They make sure that the love between us will not be broken, even in the midst of her new marriage.
My dear! Ladybird has just gotten married. Without her presence, Dr. Manette has nothing. He is completely occupied in his own work. We all need our Lucie back into our lives.
I am sorry, but I am truly in love Charles. I wish I could come back, yet I am truly happy where I am now. I will stop and see you sometimes, yet I am happily married. I am also going through troubles with that terrible prison who is holding him, we shall power through.
My daughter is in love with and has now maried Mr charles darnay over The jackal Sydney Carton. I cannot say that I disagree with her descion as Mr Cartton has frequent trips to the bar.
My dear Lucie, I have been imprisoned but lucky for me I have a carrier pigeon so my message may get out. I have never seen this kind of injustice before (well, that's a bit of an exaggeration) but this must be stopped. This whole situation could have been avoided had the Marquis and Nobles treat us common folk better. #prison life is not for me
Oh Charles this must not be true! You must be released, somehow you will be freed! Everyone is so worried for you, especially me! Please stay well. Hope I can see you soon!
Lucie may have married Charles Darney, but that does not change how much I love her and although I believe she does feel some sympathy for me, there is no denying that she loves Darney more. All I can do is hope that one day she will love me as much as I have always loved her.
I have long since come to terms with the fact that you cannot love me dear Lucie. But I would like you to be aware of the joy you shed onto my life. I will forever remember the joy you cast to my life.
Mr. Lorry, I beg of you to help free my husband. Charles traveled to France to save this Gabelle, but was captured by the revolutionists and sent to prison (La Force). My father, Dr. Manette is confident that he is able to free Charles because of his standing as a prisoner of the Bastille.
@Mr. Jarvis Lorry
I will do all in my power to free your husband, Lucie, but nothing is certain in these uncertain times. There is not much I, or anybody else for that matter, can do but wait to see what happens to Charles. I give you my greatest condolences for you and your father.
I will do all in my power to free your husband, Lucie, but nothing is certain in these uncertain times. There is not much I, or anybody else for that matter, can do but wait to see what happens to Charles. I give you my greatest condolences for you and your father.
My dear dear Lucie, please stay away from that wretch of a man, Carton. You truly love me don't you? For you said so in the vows you have spoken, when we were wed. So, I beg of you, please, stay with me and keep Carton out of your heart.
I am sorry Charles and mean no harm to you and your wife. She has no interest in me and is just a friend. Lucie has changed me for the better and made me consider changing my life. I would do anything for her, including giving up my life. Also I am sorry that you are in prison again and will try my best to get you out.
Lucie, I love you with all of my heart, and I will be offer support in your marriage, I just hope you are doing the right thing. I will miss you Mrs. Darnay, as I may call you now. But, you will always be Miss Manette to me, my sweet child. Please stay out of trouble and take care of little Lucie, and I am very sorry for your early loss of your little boy. Best Wishes
I begin to suspect that Charles has become involved with some shady characters over in Paris. #LucieManette
My Dear Lucie, your heroism towards me has eliminated much mental chaos and confusion and led to peace and order through my soul. Without you, I was lost and alone. Now your light has shone upon me and brightened my days. You are the best hero I could have ever hoped for to lead me into a new life. Thank you.
I love you father, you mean the world to me. I would be lost wothout you and you have supported me with all of my decisions which I have had to make, with no ease.
Your loving daughter,
I truly fear for my husband's safety. While his is in that wretched prison, anything could happen to him. No matter what the others think, I must keep a positive mindset as to his whereabouts. I must remain confident that he has a perfectly reasonable explanation for all of this.
Lucie, I want you to know that I will always do what I can to help you. I want to be your hero, because that is all that will make me happy. After all, my life will consist of nothing better. I hope that I will be able to be your hero.
This should be from Sydney Carton instead of Charles Darnay
Oh, young Ladybird, you mustn't have a clue how much love you have generated throughout this house. I have come to love you and to look out for you as if you were my own daughter, as has Mr. Lorry. Your father, Dr. Manette, lives for you and could not live without you. Charles Darnay loves you deeper than the deepest ocean. Sydney Carton would die for you and anyone who is loved by you. And your beautiful daughter, Little Lucie, clings to you and already tries to be like you. You have impacted the lives of everyone you have come across and caused love to bloom.
My Dear Lucy,
All is well in La Force; at least for me. Your father, the doctor, comes and visits me between whiles. Tell our little Lucie I love her. I hope to see you shortly! #CharlesDarnay
@CharlesDarnay I really hope to see you soon my love. I dread that something bad will happen to you every second that I am away from you. Please com back as soon as possible I want you near me. #LucieManette
I am truly sorry that you had to witness Charles being re-arrested. I did as much as I could by talking to the soldiers and they told he his accusers which were the Defarges and one other individual. I cannot believe they would betray us! Then the judge names me as one of the accusers! This is just madness!
I want you to know that I love you, Lucie, and always will, but you shall never love me back. Even if you wish to be with me, there is nothing you can do as my problems with alcohol overcome my soul. So please remember me, but never love me.
I am sorry that your husband has gone into France at a time like this. I tried warning him not to go, but he went anyway. He should have never gone, knowing his emigrant stauts and his relations to nobility. However, I do wish your father luck and your husband well. Maybe Charles will make it out of France. After all, Dr. Manette got him to a trial and acquitted once, perhaps he can do it again.
Lucie, I only mean this as a friend, and I truly regret my horrid actions from earlier on in life. I have wasted my life and I lost you to Charles Darnay, I do wish to still be friends though. I wish that I had never got into the trouble I have gone through. Lucie, I miss you, and I will do my best to get Mr. Darnay out of prison, for he should not be there. I love you my dear Lucie. I cannot live with myself if I am not forgiven by you.
Lucie I am dearly sorry for all that has happened to you and my dear son-in-law. We should have taken more precautions after Charles's initial arrest but we did not. As a result of this he has been arrested yet again with Madame Defarge as the prosecutor. I did my best to save him but it was in vain. I am sorry my dear daughter but I do believe Charles will not make it out alive this time.
My wife, I love you so much. I am so sorry that I am causing you and our family pain. I promise you I did no wrong. And it makes this so much more painful. Just thinking of you gives me strength. We will get through this, my love. #Charles
Ladybird, no one is right for you. No one can give you what you deserve except for my son. Darnay and Carton are fools. #Ms. Pross
I meant brother
Lucie my darling daughter, you truly rest your feelings of love towards Charles. From the moment I laid eyes on him and while he asked my permission for your hand in marriage, I knew he was right for you. Why else would a lady like yourself wait in front of La Force while just so that Charles may see your face, while you stand there hoping he just might see you while seeing nothing at all (your welcome for that information by the way). Now that he is with you again, you better make the right choices!
You see ladybird? Darnay is arrested once more, and you are left without a husband. My brother Solomon and I have just reunited, you would love him far more than Darnay if you met him.
Although he has been taken back to La Force, he is still with my child and I in our hearts. I am sure that Solomon is a wonderful man, and I am glad that you have found him at last, but I must be going to the street corner where I stand everyday in the hopes that Charles will get just one glance at me.
I am most certain that her true feelings are for me. Although Ladybird married the lovely Charles Darnay, both I and Lucie acknowledge that we once had intimate passion for one another. I often come visit the Darnay household as I am a newborn family friend and wish to keep close ties. #SydneyCarton
All of you young and fine gentlemen are chasing a lost cause; for Lucie is happily married and her husband is an excellent man of distinction whose integrity ties deep within me. I love the Ladybird and support her decision with whomever she may have chosen. However I often remind her of her great beauty and elegance which allows her to have any man. #Dr.Manette
Oh dear Ladybird, it is stunning to you all grown up and entangled in love affairs concerning yourself. I remember seeing you as a child in the place that I provided. I would talk with Ms. Pross who would inform me of your progress and state as a growing little girl. I hope you are happy in your love, come visit me soon!
I miss you my dear Lucie, but I cannot even begin to tell you how much in this limit of letters. I hope that our Little Lucie is well, because I would hate if my incarceration was affecting her. This jail is absolutely detestable! I hear threats about the guillotine every day, and they just continue to frighten me. Do well, and do all that you can to help me escape from this torture.
I believe that lucie is truly in love with me.
My dearest Lucie,
Let my imprisonment be not frightening to you. I am fine, and will assuredly be out soon. Stay strong and kiss our daughter for me!
I have watched my dearest daughter grieve for Charles when he was imprisoned. The depression she felt while he was in jail was evident in her every act. The joy she showed when Charles came home could not inspire doubts of her love for him in even the most cynical of hearts. There is no question that my daughter is in love with Charles Darnay.
Oh, I really think that this helps me cope with all that was happening in my life. I still hope you know that I TRULY love @luciemanette with all of my heart!
Nooo. I love Lucie! Charles Darnay, I simply despise you. You have taken away from me the only thing that I can enjoy.
You and your daughter would be a pretty gift for La Guillotine
It pains me too think my dearest Charles stuck in the prison looking out the window at nothing. Therefore, I will stay in that spot daily no matter the weather, in hop he will see me!
Lucie, I admire your devotion to your husband, Charles. However, at some point, you must realize how vain your hopes are. Darnay has been acquitted from many crimes before, but the revolution will not hesitate to murder him in cold blood. The chaos created by the populus is, sometimes, too great to overcome. Though I am determined to make you happy and to make your life more enjoyable, I fear that raising false hopes does nothing but hurt you more eventually. I am trying to help you, but I simply think you should prepare yourself.
I am sorry for the incarceration of your husband Charles Darnay, but the Revolution will not stop for the sake of one mere man. The sea is rising, and nothing will stop us from taking what is truly ours.
I do not know who Lucie is in love with because I don't think Lucie even knows who she is in love with. She seems to focus on her father more than herself, so she does not know. However, I believe that just because she married Charles, she is not necessarily in love with him.
I too think she does not know who she truly is in love with because of how Dickens interprets them as not of a close relationship. I feel like Dickens is probably showing the downsides of love a first sight at this part of the novel. This was probably an improvisation of what happened to him in real life, but with different names and such.
How can you be so cruel? You, madame are not human, you are a 'force of nature.' You do not care who gets in your way. This became very clear to me when you said, "Tell the Wind and the Fire where to stop; not me!" #luciemanette
My dearest Lucie, I will try my best to figure out a way to free Charles and bring him back to you safely. I know he means a lot to you, which means he means a lot to me as well. He will return to us.
I know you want me to show your criminal husband some mercy, but I know that the Revolution will not stop for the sake for you and your family. I may seem cold, but I am just in the spirit of the Revolution.
My dear wife,
I know that your life can seem scary now, but I urge you to take courage! You need to be strong now! Even though I am in prison, I am still your husband and I want you to stay safe
Lucie, the man by the name of Sydney is a man that drinks heavily and is as lazy as one of those great nobles. He doesn’t want you and your sweet character; he wants the fortune that your family contains. The selfish heart of men oversees the greater beauty of what lies before him. Take care of yourself Lucy and make wise decisions
Mrs. Manette-Darnay married the man she truly loves. Having been her guardian for all of her childhood and teenage years, I believe that she would have been best suited with Charles Darnay. Such a chivalrous and pleasant man, he is! If it had not been for Darnay, Lucie may have never found true happiness!
Me and my love Charles have a great connection I have never felt before in my life. I know he also feels this feeling. # Lucie Manette
My beloved daughter, I hate to see you this way. If you truly love Charles Darnay, I will support your decisions. I know that he places in an important role in your life, and although I find it hard to surrender you into another man's control, I just want you to go back to the way you used to be. We will find a way to free Darnay, I promise.
Who does you think you are? The revolution is not about to be put on pause just because it could harm your family. There are plenty of people that are going to have to make sacrifices for the good of the public. Looks like you are just going to have to suck it up.
My dear Lucie, If your heart does belong to Charles as you say I will most certainly do the best I can to free Darnay for you. I love you my dear daughter, and though it hurts to let you go, I will do as I must to ease your worries.
My dearest daughter I will save your husband from his imprisonment as I did before. They believe me a hero for serving my time, but they see him as an aristocrat even though he renounced all of the unjust happenings I will save him from there form of republic tyranny. @Luciemanette #Dr.Manette
