Such a fun day this is going to be! Already had my chocolate and am going on a wonderful carriage ride! #Funtimes #Delicious
It was such a lovely day until my carriage hit that street rat. My horses could have been injured! People need to clean up the streets and tend to their children! #poor people
I could not agree more. Not only the horses could have gotten hurt, but the money that was thrown back at me, that could have injured me. You would think those peasants would take money off the street when you see it. Oh well, they cannot do anything to us. #Marquis @Marquis
If my horse had been injured my wrath would be even greater than yours. My dappled grays cost me 32,000 francs - how I would hate to see one injured by one of those lowly street rats.
The fool would not even accept the generous offer I made to him. You think peasants would be more grateful for money. With the safety of my poor horses being threatened, I think I was more than fair.
Those peasants weren't even at all concerned for the damage they could have done to my horses. Have they no care for other living beings? Those fools don't care about anything but getting their filthy little paws on money, which they still threw back at me today! What ungrateful people!
You are an evil person. That poor child you had killed was the son of one of my close friends named Gaspar. He was crushed after the death of his son. You should be happy, because of you a man lost everything he ever had. #Ernest Defarge
Well, I have not had such a great day either. You killed my son. He meant the world today. But no worries, Marquis, I have something prepared for you...
Well I have not had a great day myself. My son was killed. By you. But enjoy this day, Marquis. It will be your last...
Running over those worthless peasants #Marquis #Aristocracyperks
This uncle is exactly why you have been killed! If you had not behaved so dreadfully to the regular men and women you would not be dead, Gabelle imprisoned, and practically tied my hands behind my back (metaphorical of course). Your bitter memory leaves me cold.
I highly advise you to watch yourself in these carriage rides of yours, if you carelessly pass the poor without realizing their presence as people no less than you, you might end up without a head.
@Marquis Evermonde. I also agree that the streets need to be cleaned up because my horse also could of been injured and it could of been been crippled for life. # Jarvis Lorry
Siiigh... there should be a law against standing in the middle of the road like that, really!
I do not care what any of you peasants think of me. I will gladly run all of you. You do not even have the right to look at me, for I am a noble man and all of you are poor. #Marquis Evremonde
Get your filthy and dead little boy off of my road! I know that I ran him over, but he is simply a small speck of dust on the spectrum. I, however, am one of the greatest people in all of France. He is a dead peasant, who must be disposed of. Do this immediately!
You need to be more considerate! Just because you are rich, does not mean that you are greater than us. The only reason that you are wealthy to begin with is because you were born into it.
You have no respect for those less fortunate than you. You think you are so high and mighty. Well just wait. We'll see who the greatest people of France are quite soon...
Obviously, everyone has been informed that Mr. Evremonde has recently joined the deceased, but I, happening to know a Resurrection Man, am offering a connection to services of that trade concerning his corpse. If interested, feel free to respond to this advertisement or the one on my own page for all to see. The same, of course, can be awarded for Gaspard's body, for any who would like such services.
Let Monsenior be an example. All corrupt politicians are going to die during the storm that is coming. I have experienced such a corrupt politician and for his own corruptness, I have condemned Monsior Villefort to Chateau D'If as he condemned me. I urge the people of France to take their revenge on the overbearing government which has ruled for too long now.
The three who condemned me to life in the Chateau d'If: Mondego, Villefort, and Danglars, beware - you have awarded yourselves a death sentence. Take heed, for Count of Monte Cristo, the angel of vengeance is here... or should I say - back
I strongly agree with what you believe in, Count. The revolutionaries and I have endured enough madness in Paris; King Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette have already been sent to the guillotine. We are planning the same fate for all other aristocratic families in this corrupt country.
Have caution, Marquis, for your lavish lifestyle of hatred of the people and aristocracy shall be halted in its tracks. The revolution is afoot, Marquis. #Jacques
There is no reason for me to deal with your lowly kind. You have no power, but I do. You better know what is best for you. A small thing like the revolution is like a speck to me. #Marquis Evermonde
Dear uncle, you must change your ways. The revolution is coming, the people are rising, and the tension is growing. You must change and realizes your mistakes in your bad ways. Things will not be in your favor, and might turn out for the worse. I am only saying this for your good, not to insult you. #Charles Darnay
Pshaw! You think I fear the likes of dirty commoners. No my dear nephew - I do not fear the dirt below me - it is they who make the mistake of standing in the way!
You have been brainwashed, Darnay. Those poor are not people; they are filthy peasants. Maybe you will realize this someday. I sure hope so...
Sir, I am warning in advance of a potential danger rising amongst the poor people. Your wealth causes people to be angry. You may want to apoligize for the death of Gaspard's child. I advise you to run fast before it is too late. I believe England is peaceful. also you might want to spread the word to your other friends before a guillotin gets them.
Thank you for the very good advice Mr. Jarvis Lorry but I would like to try to stay in my country as long as possible before I have to leave her with my life. # Marquis
You are filthy and cruel and I am happy to see you go. Your money is no compensation for the lives you have destroyed. You now join my son, ending like the peasant you truly are. Your hatred for humanity has come back to haunt you. I hope you rot. #Gaspard
Ha! You're just a peasant! Who cares what YOU think?!?
I have no desire to be an Evermonde. You have brought shame upon my reputation, and I am glad to be released from you and the binding chains I have carried for so long. @Marquis #Charles
My dear nephew, why must you disappoint me so? You could have anything and everything. All of the riches I have so thoroughly enjoyed. You are a fool to let go of this life. You are a fool to go against me. #Marquis @Charles
I must disappoint you. I must, because, o so cruel uncle, you have tortured the innocent peoples of the common public, running over an innocent boy, and having no regrets regarding it. I cannot live under this machine. I love Lucy, and she hates you, and her father does as well. Goodbye uncle.
You have no respect for our family name, Charles. Shame on you!! You have been softened by a girl, haven't you? Don't take heed to what she says: I know whats right, not the girl.
Uncle, I advise you to be more courteous with the peasants that you look down upon. There are two reasons for this: the first being your moral obligation, and the second being that you are endangering yourself if you maintain this egocentric mentality on society.
I have a special shroud made just for you!
Did you make one for the street rat? Oh I forgot, you commoners are too poor to afford anything.
I will be avenged, the system which I ran for so long will be recalled, and the peasants will once more be rats on the streets to be mindlessly slaughtered!
It saddens me to see someone of high honor and power be so selfish and evil. To run over a poor child, and think that money should heel the wounds of the boy's family. I would run and hide if I were you, because some people will not be happy with you when they hear what happened.
@bigboymarquis I am sorry marquis, but I would not wish to inherit your belongings when you pass. I do not feel that you have respected the family name in the same way i would. I wish you the best, but do not wish for any affiliations with you. #iamchuckdarnay
I see you are a man of high refinement and nobility. I would be interested if you could join une petite soirée I am hosting. It is right here in Paris, and I am sure you prefer to spend your time with the upper-estate members such as the group attending. If you wish to attend, please send word so my servants can set the table correctly. Remember, be punctual.
# Baron de Château-Renaud
A revolt seemed so small and insignificant but now it is obviously out of hand. My death proves this. This chaos is worse than could have been predicted. This is outrageous and must be stopped.
#beyond the beyond blogging
This whole revolution can rest on your shoulders uncle. May you turn in your grave to hear the truth be spoken! The maltreatment of your subjects is your mistake and yours alone and yet here we are, forced to clean up your mess.
Oh dear uncle, the revolution has begun. I have been captured by the revolutionists and will be sent to La Force prison on the account of being related to you. Your mistakes in the past and treatment of the poor have brought me into your mess. I have seen it too much now and understand that all of the nobles will face their fate, death. The patterns are all too much the same. Goodbye uncle.
Even after I have renounced YOUR family's name, I still must pay the price for all of the trouble that you caused. Why must your kind (Aristocrats) be so insufferable towards to rest of your fellow mankind?
I moved away from what used to be your country. I cannot stand the thought of being in such a position as you were and being such a disgrace to others. This is also why I changed my name and attempted to distance myself from the family line.
I understand this nephew, you must do what it takes to live your life as it may be abandoning the family name. I understand and appreciate the thought.
Why is it that you wish to abandon me? I have everything a true man such as yourself can even wish for. And your name, my nephew. Why would you ever chose to disgrace a family such as ours?
Marquis, if it really is your name in which my son-in-law relates, I must admit, I am disappointed. You are simply a cruel member of the aristocracy that cares nothing of people besides yourself. Charles was right to abandon you. All you do for society is hurt. Mark my words, you will pay. The angered father of the boy you killed will not sit and mourn while you bath in riches. For someone who has everything, you have nothing. Charles was right to disgrace you.
You have ruined the fate of poor young Charles. He is being put through so much cruelty because of your selfishness. You deserve punishment; due to your terrible personality, Darnay's entire family, including myself, is suffering. You once put me in jail, an action that changed my life. You almost destroyed me, until my dear daughter recalled me to life. Now you are doing this to Charles. I will not allow it. We will never forgive you.
I cannot believe you! All you have ever done to me is ruin my life and my family. You have put me in jail before, and I cannot believe you would do it to Charles. He is my son now, and you will not wreck and destroy everyone in my family. You are a terrible man, wait, you are not a man, you are a wretch, a true villian or fiend. I will never forgive you for this Evremonde, never.
I am glad to see that the death of my uncle has brought more happiness than mourning, because he was not very well liked. I did not particularly like him either. Receiving the land was nice, but I fear that what he has done will affect me and my loved ones as well.
Where can I start with Marquis? He was a bloody anchor pulling down on my life! He brings the whole family down! I sound rather carried off in hatred, but in all honesty he was the worst! Good Riddance! #byebye
In some ways I feel as though the death of my uncle should bring me sadness, but that is not so. I am glad that the death of him has brought happiness to so many and has taken me one step closer to cutting what few ties I still have with the family I want no part of. I still fear that what terrible things he has done will harm my new, beloved family.
I want to blame you. All of your arrogance and need for superiority got me and my family in this situation. I really want to put all the blame on you and think this is all of your fault. But somehow I can not. I feel as if all of this is fate. If it was not for your maliciousness, I would not have met my wife. I am not using this as an excuse for you but I am saying that everything happens for a reason. I hope you know you were wrong to mess with people's lives. I hope you learned your lesson wherever you are, Uncle.
I am so disgusted by the French peasants, and so ashamed of my nephew Charles. He has blamed me for all of his problems and that our family has caused so many wrongdoings. What a fool! There are poor "revolutionary" savages running around in the filthy streets, causing many wrongdoings themselves. It's a lost cause they are chasing after.
Marquis, your nephew did the right thing to abandon you. The climax
of your cruelty was the murder of that man's son. Know you that that man will not stay idle. You have taken away his happiness. I leave you with the grief of this man on you, although I do not think you will care. #Dr. Manette
I think we are all forgetting that the little street rat ran in front of MY carraige! My horses could have been greviously injured, and I would have had to walk! Posh, we couldn't have had that, could we? The man got his due, I think that a coin was fair enough. It wasn't murder, it was assult by small boy to my horses!
#Marquis Evrémonde (from the beyond the beyond)
I hope all of you are suffering, my death will never change my feelings towards every living being around the earth. Why would anyone kill a person with such outstanding riches. Everyone, other than me, should be eliminated! But I have moved on, why would I want to stay in such a world full of people I hated so much in the first place. While I still hate everyone, I must indeed say thank you. Thank you for helping me escape from the presence of people with such low intelligence that it hurts me to even think about such persons!
This is exactly why the Evremonde name should be not heard from again. They believe that they are much better than everyone else on earth. However, we must show them that they are not by continuing to rebel and work to eliminate the rest of the Evremonde family.
Even from the grave, father, you still plague me. I have found that that Madame Defarge will not rest until the Evremonde name has been abolished forever. While it is a shame that she is so bloodthirsty and violent, had it not been for your cruel actions toward the commonfolk, she may have never become this cruel. I do hope that you now see the error of your ways.
Father I cannot believe the trouble you have gotten me into. Due to the acts that you did I am now being punished by the revolutionaries for your actions. I fear for my life as well as those of my friends and family.
That boy and his sister still deserve what they got. They should feel honored that they died in the house of an Everemonde.
I cannot believe what happened today. After that horrid hold almost destroyed my carriage, I gave the man a coin in order to repay him for his "devastating loss". And he had the nerve to throw it back at me! Those peasants need to learn their place around here.
To self: I can't believe that Darnay went to prison. Why can't you believe that? I mean he did leave France to marry in England. That doesn't mean that you should imprison him! Well they hate us and want our things, if I were them, I would imprison me too. Stop it! You love Darnay and think it is unfair that he be imprisoned. There is nothing I can to about it.
You are a devil, Marquis Evremonde, and you will pay for your numerous sins. I would like nothing more than to cut you open with a scalding hot knife, pour molten iron and sulfur into your wounds, pull your tongue out with pincers, rip you apart limb by limb, and tear your heart out with my bear hands. You deserve to die, ungrateful twit, and one day you will.
You fool! You seek to stop me! I am the great Marquis. How dare you try to attack me in such a dastardly way! I a- (breathing stops)
Marquis: I don't understand. Why was I not told of my son's imprisonment before. I demand to see the one who accused him.
I always felt a little hatred towards me... Oh how I as an uncle loved him. In my opinion I feel what I thought was best for him wasn't in agreement with him.
It is so funny that these peasants think they can overthrow us aristocrats! As if they had any power?! I could get them all executed with the snap of my fingers! They should just stick to making my hot chocolate. #marquis
Now do you realize the unusual cruelty done under the Evremonde name? I have been arrested for all the crimes done that had been put into the shadows. And to make it worse my father-in-law was a victim to some of these crimes.
I can not believe you. why in the world would you decide to go to England instead of having the wonderful life here in France. Nothing is going to happen to us =! There is nothing the rodents could possibly do!
I don't regret running over your son. He had nothing going for him anyways. He was a peasant afterall. You should be thanking me for ending his life early, so he would not know true misery.
You may be wondering, my uncle, why I have fled the country and disowned our name. I do not agree with what you are doing, and what our ancestors have been doing for generations. You have no respect for life because, in your eyes, all life is below you. I am disgusted by that opinion. I wish to create a new name for myself, one that is not shadowed by the evil expected from us. I truly believe that, unless we act fast, our family's reputation is beyond saving. Please, consider that it may be time for us to change.
Those filthy rats think they can just sacrifice one of their one just to try and get charity from me? They deserve nothing but suffering. I would run over all of them if I could.
If only you knew of Jacques you would never have said that you fool. You are the evil of this country and you will pay for you ignorance. #ErnestDefarge
(Written before the Marquis' death)
If I were ever so "fortunate" to be the Marquis, murdering an innocent child will have been the last of my actions. Marquis would never be a title I would be chosen to carry with my background and incompetence, but I do know that that would not be something I did. Your death is nearly certain at this rate.
I hope you are not still thinking of me. I do not approve of the life that you lived, and I surely do not want to be associate with such ignorant people. I have left for a reason, but you better not seek me to try and find out why.
What do you say to a dead man such as him? I was never fond of him or the life he led, I hate to rejoice in the death of another but I suppose it was for the best
You lazy scoundrals crawl around like pests and get in my way! We should have just been harder on before. Maybe you would have learned not to interfere. You and all the ones like you are worthless to such a person like me.
Rejoice, for the tyrant has fallen from his throne, and freedom starts to ring ever so slightly. The aristocracy will not last under these circumstances, and the people will finally have a say in things.
Write something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview.
